In his first fight since dropping to the UFC's welterweight division, Mike Swick defeated Josh Burkman Wednesday evening at UFC Fight Night 12.
Swick won a majority decision over Burkman but expressed his frustrations to the fans afterwards, who spent much of the fight booing.
"I should have flurried a lot more, but I was trying to defend the takedown,” Swick said. "He’s a strong guy."
The event's primary undercard bout featured middleweight Patrick Cote stringing together a series of punches that earned him a TKO victory over Drew McFedries at 1:44 of the first round.
Other action included rising lightweight Thiago Tavares winning a unanimous decision over Michihiro Omigawa and "Ultimate Fighter 5" winner Nate Diaz submitting Alvin Robinson with a triangle choke at 3:39 of the first round.
