Couture signs contract with HDNet Fights

UFC heavyweight champion Randy "The Natural" Couture

Since resigning from the UFC in Oct. 2007, heavyweight champion Randy Couture's status in the MMA world has been a mystery...until now.
The UFC hall-of-famer has signed a contract with HDNet Fights, which goes into effect once his current deal with the UFC expires.
Despite his resignation, Couture must fulfill the one-year non-compete provision in his contract, meaning the earliest Couture could return to the octagon would be in the fall.
The signing of Couture opens the door for a possible fight between Couture and top-ranked fighter Fedor Emelianenko, assuming terms can be reached the Russian heavyweight.
