Since resigning from the UFC in Oct. 2007, heavyweight champion Randy Couture's status in the MMA world has been a mystery...until now.
The UFC hall-of-famer has signed a contract with HDNet Fights, which goes into effect once his current deal with the UFC expires.
Despite his resignation, Couture must fulfill the one-year non-compete provision in his contract, meaning the earliest Couture could return to the octagon would be in the fall.
The signing of Couture opens the door for a possible fight between Couture and top-ranked fighter Fedor Emelianenko, assuming terms can be reached the Russian heavyweight.
