Heavyweight comebacks highlight UFC 81

Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira is crowned UFC Interim Heavyweight Champion

Heavyweights Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira found themselves in trouble and on their backs early on in their respective fights. But in the end, patience prevailed and the two fighters pulled off a pair of improbable victories.
In the night's main event, Nogueira made history by becoming the first MMA fighter to win titles in both the UFC and the now-defunct PRIDE Fighting Championships.
Nogueira overcame the power and precision of Tim Sylvia's striking and used his world class jiu-jitsu to submit Sylvia with a guillotine choke at 1:28 of the third round. With the win, Nogueira won the UFC's interim heavyweight title.
The event's other marquee fight saw former heavyweight champion Frank Mir spoil the much anticipated debut of former pro wrestler Brock Lesnar.
In only his second mixed martial arts fight, Lesnar overwhelmed Mir within the first few seconds of the fight with a quick takedown and controlled the majority of the fight with his brute strength and aggression, before inexperience caused Lesnar to fall victim to a desperation knee bar by Mir, which forced Lesnar to tap.
